Health Emergency Response and Support Branch Home

Welcome

What is the Health Emergency Response and Support Branch?

The Health Emergency Response and Support Branch mobilizes the District’s response to public health crises. The office collaborates across divisions to coordinate and operationalize healthcare services above and beyond the District’s internal capacity. Functions of the office are based on the five mission areas of the National Preparedness System’s School Guide:

Prevent   ⇒   Protect   ⇒   Mitigate   ⇒   Respond   ⇒   Recover

The Health Emergency Response and Support ensures emergency readiness, addresses public health crises, and establishes preventative health measures. New and ongoing health priorities include vision and dental preventative screenings, as well as the awareness and prevention of Opioids, Monkeypox, Tuberculosis, Acute Hepatitis, Influenza, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
